Review: Pig Goat Banana Cricket “Cow Duck Avocado Mantis”

Spoilers Below

Pig wants to be in an action movie so that people will remember his belt. Pig gets his chance after Stink’s belt gets ruined, but the hero is so fat that he can’t hold Stink’s pants together. The director fires him, but Pig learns some new tricks and returns to be Stink’s belt again. Pig holds up ok and is put into the hall of fame…with no way out of the case.

A director discovers Goat and gives her a part in a new horror movie he is putting together. Goat doesn’t exactly get a role that’s all that appealing, but it’s a start. The movie is called Jack Face, and the role that Goat takes is for sorority girl #2. The actress that was SUPPOSED to play that role is furious that she’s being recast so she takes Jack Face’s costume and is made the star, but she fires the director and replaces him with Goat.

Banana steps in for his hero on a TV show called Cow Duck Avocado Mantis after he assaults the poor bastard. Problem is, Banana is super shy and gets nervous in front of the camera/live audience but he gets used to it after a while. It isn’t long before the REAL Avocado shows up and gets both him and Banana fired.

Cricket sets out to make a movie on his own because the current crop of movies is terrible. To help produce his directorial debut, Cricket clones himself a bunch of times to build up a cast, crew, and more. It isn’t long before all of the Crickets argue over whomever is the real Cricket.

Pig, Goat, and Banana get back together and have to figure out who the real Cricket is before they escape the lot. Goat plays guitar and destroys all of the clones leaving the real Cricket by himself. Banana gets punched in the face by Avocado.

Our Take

Goat had a rather confusing bit, but other than that I had a lot of fun with Pig Goat Banana Cricket this week. I love when the producers mess around with the alternates of the principal characters because you always hope for the spin-off. And while an episode ABOUT television is always a slippery slope, I think we hit all the major points and did so with everyone’s personality coming through the pages.
