Review: Loafy “Loafy Sells Weed to a Hypnotist”; “Loafy Thinks Becca Is Cheating”

“Loafy Sells Weed to a Hypnotist”

Loafy encounters a hypnotist named “Hwayne Hwonderman” (Voiced by Taran Killam) And rather than pay Loafy for a large amount of weed, Loafy instead offers to see his Hypnotist skills in action with all his human & non-human friends in exchange for Weed which leads to some hilarious & shocking reveals about each of them…

“Loafy Thinks Becca Is Cheating”

Out of sheer happenstance, Slippy (Gina Gershon) notices Loafy’s Girlfriend Becca (Cecily Strong) sneakily hiding & leaving under the bushes within the Zoo which raises enough suspicious to ask’s Loafy to investigate Becca’s recent actions…

Our Take

From Killam’s performance as an arrogant hypnotist who has the verbal tendency to put a lot of emphasis on the “H” in many of his sentences that involve words with a “WH” in them (much like that old Family Guy joke), to Even Gina Gershon’s performance as an aspiring Monkey Actress who thinks something sinister is afoot with Loafy’s carefree Stoner girlfriend, To the consistently funny performances of Kevin Smith as “Mar-Camel” and even Jason Mewes in as a Stoned Giraffe. The jokes excel with unapologetic aplomb, and the stories are short enough that they don’t overstay their welcome.

As for the behind the scenes segments, It’s clear that Bobby Moynihan is having fun with this show, because the videos at the end of each episode not only show the creative process but the honest to god effort that’s put into making something that comes across as effortlessly funny through an almost-unscripted improvisational structure, including a funny explanation to why Loafy tends to say specific words & phrases a certain way.

Another 2 episodes from Comedy Central once again knocking it out of the park in laughs!
