Spoilers Below

Kirby gets grounded which means he no longer gets his Friday Nights. Fortunately, Dawn and his mother are going to be out for the evening so he concocts a plan to try and salvage it despite the fact that his dad’s gonna be home. After a night of playing video games, Kirby drugs his dad and sends him dad all the while sneaking in Fish and Eli. After playing some games, the guys end up waking up Dad, but he ends up pitching a tent outside in an effort to spend some time with his boy. Kirby uses lapses in time to run back and forth from inside, but soon Dad locks the doors and while Eli and Fish are inside, Dad and Kirby are outside camping. The next morning, Kirby has to bust his friends out, but Dad calls the cops suspecting someone may have broken into the house.

As the Officer and his baby shows up to scout the scene, the guys sneak out the back door which leads to a big chase. Halfway through, Dad realizes who the culprits are and pulls a sly trick so as to save his kid and friends.

Meanwhile, Dawn, Belinda, and Mom head to the hotel so that they can meet the new teen-bob band that’s in town. Unfortunately when Mom heads up to the room with the key card, the rest of the girls are stuck until they can prove that they indeed have proper access into the hotel. This causes this security guy to chase the girls all over the building, lead the girls directly into the garbage chute which has no cell coverage and is locked from the outside. Eventually, a janitor frees them just in time to see the boys, and to learn that Mom was a hit with the band. She even got Dawn and Belinda some kick-ass autographs.

This week we tread a TAD more into cliche story-lines, but in Kirby’s case, his dad kind of elevates the game a bit. Most might try to get around a more strict dad, but this guy is a refreshing change from that. Moreover, Kirby is such a sweet kid, that you can’t help but get caught up in his silly shenanigans, even if they are littered in a mess of montages. The officer with his baby was maybe one of the funnier bits I’ve seen this year, and I hope we see a bunch more of him. The plot featuring the girls we’ve probably seen 50 or so times, but overall, another solid week of Kirby.
