Review: Harvey Beaks “Terrybear”

Spoilers Below

When he tries to get his library card renewed, Technobear finds out that his real name is Terrybear. His parents knew this whole time, but didn’t think Technobear would make such a big deal out of it. When Terry comes to grips on who he is, he opts to go a different direction than what Technobear was about. As a result, Harvey, Fee, and Foo head to Randl’s to search for Terry’s new identity. Terry decides to go with a wrangler look which officially makes him a cowboy bear. Dade wants nothing to do with this, but Harvey’s doing everything he can to help Terrybear get accustomed to his new look.

Eventually, Terrybear realizes that you can take the bear out of the techno but not the techno out of the bear, and he’s just a natural at dancing to club music. Terry comes to the conclusion that the country bear look isn’t working so his parents show up and let him know that he really is Technobear. Unfortunately, he can never be a turtle.

Our Take

Harvey Beaks continues to stretch its legs by not focusing only on Fee, Foo, and Harvey, but continuing to give us really great episodes focusing on characters that maybe we don’t see a lot. This one was good because it featured classic plot points like make overs, but mixed in with silly dancing that looks so adorable even if you don’t like techno you wanna pull off the Night at the Roxbury head bob.

And of course…there’s Harvey. Showing up with long-ass boots just to support a pal going through an identity crisis and continuing to showcase why the show’s named after him.
