Review: Family Guy ‘Life of Brian’
Spoilers Below
This episode kicks off in a kind of Planet of the Aboriginals alternate present after Brian and Stewie go back in time and sell guns to Native Americans.
After a slew of stereotypes, some rather bland and others way over the top (what Family Guy does best!), Stewie decides to destroy his time machine before he makes any irreparable damage. While disposing of the wreck at the dump, Stewie and Brian come by a hockey net.
When the duo goes outside to play a game of road hockey, a car hits Brian, and in a drawn out emotional moment, viewers finally learn which Griffin dies this season.
In an attempt to cheer Peter up, Lois suggests the Griffins get a new dog.
At the pound, Peter takes a liking to Vinnie, the smooth talking pussy hound (he’s one-sixteenth cat), who’s also a stereotypical gino.
Stewie doesn’t warm up to Vinnie like the rest of the family and makes several attempts at “shooing” the new family dog – up until a heart warming one-on-one discussion between the two distant individuals.
Although this episode takes on a more serious tone, what’s more serious is the offensive comedy jammed throughout, including making fun of mentally ill children with guns, grieving African American mothers, women’s rights activists, albino children, PBS, and people who drive Saturns. That’s right, even status symbols aren’t out of reach for the Family Guy creatives!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
