Our Take

With this being amongst the final episodes of Season 3 and by-extension final season in general, this was quite an interesting episode. In the original DuckTales Gandra was always the prototypical damsel in distress, but here she’s far from that in terms of how she handles herself. In many respects she’s kind’ve the Catwoman to Gizmoduck’s Batman in terms of how tumultuous their romance is due to Gandra’s ties with F.O.W.L. but at least we do get an explanation as to why she prefers to work with supervillains.

As the two make a joint effort to create the invention of a lifetime, Of course with any great invention there’s always going to be some douche-monkey like Mark Beaks out to steal the idea to make themselves relevant. We also learn that Fenton’s mother who’s a detective is also suspicious of whom he’s dating, and Gyro is a bit intrigued at it as well leading to an interesting climax that still leaves me wanting to see more.

Overall this was a very Huey & Fenton-focused episode. Although it was funny with its situational comedy. While the ending leaves me both intrigued and sad for Fenton, all I can say about it is that I hope it’s resolved by the series finale.
