Review: Cyanide & Happiness Show “The Pain Wars: Part 1”

You better be ready…

I honestly don’t know how these guys pull this show off, along with shorts, along with a bunch of merch, along with touring the world going to 50 different Comic Cons, but producers Kris, Dave, and Rob must have screws loose. In any event…it’s working.

The third season of Cyanide & Happiness is right away presented in a number of different ways than the first or second seasons that were featured on Seeso. For starters, it appears that we’ve pretty much decided on character designs for all of the base characters, and as we saw late in season two, we’re seeing fewer shorts and more episodes with arcs and recurring characters. This time around, it appears the guys are upping the ante once again by introducing arcs and relationships to brands and characters that kick off right from the first episode and ride right through the fifth.

And that’s another thing, as opposed to last season when we kicked off season two with two episodes, this time around we’re getting half of the 10 episodes ordered by Seeso right off the bat. Not sure when the next five are coming, but even when the first five are over you want a shit-ton more. Hilarious movie parodies about, Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, RoboCop, and a bunch more I’m sure I’m forgetting about, this show has kicked in a third season that is just as good as anything on TV right now. Cyanide & Happiness is back, and NO ONE is safe.
