Shorts Review: Bravest Warriors – The Parasox Pub

Spoilers Below

Bravest Warriors is one of those shows that is so weird, it’s awesome. There are so many layers within each character that it almost comes off like a soap opera. It’s a wonder that the writers don’t confuse themselves!

So. We start out with Chris waking up to Catbug scribbling on his wall. But it’s not Catbug. It’s the Emotion Lord. He wants Chris to save his soul. So, of course, Chris gets whisked away to this creepy bar locked inside a timeless prison.

The Emotion Lord introduces Chris to all of the older versions of himself that are hanging around the bar. Yes, they are all Chris. Weird, right?

Anyway, Chris was brought to the Parasox Pub to release himselves from their prison. Basically, if Chris kills their jailor, Puddingtown, they will be released and have another chance to make things right with Beth. But can Chris bring himself to kill someone just to give him another chance with his one true love?

Normally, I would give away the ending for the episode. I’m not going to this time. You really have to watch this episode to fully understand what is going on. My words won’t do it justice. Like any good Bravest Warriors episode, there are some unexpected turns and a lot of weirdness. My favorite part is the Space Chicken show, which is an homage to the Enchanted Tiki Room at Disneyland and Disney World. Oh, and the version of older Chris that can only do a titty twister. He is so wrong in so many ways.

The only down side to the episode was the lack of Catbug. You can never have too much Catbug.

Look out for a guest appearance by Robert Picardo from Star Trek: Voyager and Stargate: Atlantis.
