Almost done with the first season!

Overview

“Leather Passions! 2 Hearts, 2 Wheelz, Infinite Roadz. Ride Now! ”

While at a local rest stop, The Leptons run into a local biker gang that successfully courts Dee Dee to the point that she decides to join the biker gang which of course messes with the team element and causes the Leptons to lose on the field. Leto, the guy who sorta broke Dee Dee’s heart, concocts a plan with Ace and Baby to race Bacchus, the guy who Dee Dee is with now. Ace/Baby/Leto win and Dee Dee destroys Bacchus.

The Leptons register another loss but opt to split for the weekend with the exception of Ace who wants the team to get together and go to the local animal shelter to volunteer. No one else opts in, so Ace gets super lonely and turns to drugs which causes all sorts of problems and nearly gets the whole team eaten by a mutant Ace. Fortunately, Gaz knows just what to do and saves all.

Our Take

We are getting closer to the end of Ballmastrz 9009’s first season, and we’re getting some good stuff, but what about the “season” of Ballmastrz the sport? There doesn’t appear to be any update on whether or not our team is doing well in terms of the standings or if they are trying to get better, really nothing to do with the “sport” of this love letter to the anime genre. That’s not to say we aren’t getting quality output, and Superjail fans are gonna LOVE “Leather Passions”, but what’s the end game?
