Spoilers Below

Stan doesn’t want Roger walking around the house with no disguise on because if Jeff catches him it will blow the Smith cover and Stan would have to kill either Jeff or Roger to keep their secret in good faith. That said, Roger sometimes wants to let it all out and as a result really doesn’t want any part of getting dressed so much so that he pretends to be an invisible friend of Jeff’s. With Roger now invisible, he pulls a bunch of shit on the Smith family, but it all comes to a head when Roger breaks his cover by asking for a remote control from Klaus that gets Jeff to start questioning Roger’s validity.  Jeff can’t keep a secret so Stan has no choice but to randomly kill Roger or Jeff. This causes Hayley to panic that her husband might get killed, so Roger offers to call up his space ship so as to resolve the situation so that both live. On the day of his leave, Roger says his goodbyes to the Smith family for allowing him to stay with them, but when the ship shows up he throws Jeff into the beam and Jeff flies away. HA!

Meanwhile, Steve feels that his ass isn’t coming in all voluptuous like the other guys at school and its made him the laughing stock of his pals.  Francine tries to help by sticking to hams down the back of Steve’s pants and sending him to school that way, but his cover gets blown, and his credibility takes a nose dive. This causes Steve to go on a mission to find the real reason asses get big…donuts! That’s right, Principal Lewis tells Steve the secret, and as a result he heads over to the store and gets a baker’s dozen. Unfortunately, the building goes up in flames, and Steve finds himself in a situation where he is the only one that can get out and save the other customers all of whom are fat and can’t fit through the door. Steve gets through, and he calls 911 only to tell the authorities that he learned a valuable lesson in being himself…and then the donut store explodes!

For years, Mike Barker has been asked countless times when we were going to see any semblance of Roger’s home world and I thought that was tonight, but alas we get another episode where Roger gets rid of Jeff. And who would have thought that Jeff is starting to become such a big part of the show that on more than a few occurrences he is paired up with Roger and it usually ends up with Jeff on the wrong-end of some sort of beating or mutilation. To be quite honest, its funny, but Jeff is slowly becoming Kenny from South Park where he is starting to be sort of a running gag, and one would think the writers would eventually grow tired of Jeff and then take him off the show for a while. Stan’s juggling act on who should die was entertaining, but overall the plot seemed somewhat rerun at this juncture. Steve’s story was so unfunny and had no merit what-so-ever with the exception of Stan walking into catching what Fran and her son were up to. But, what teenage boy cares about his ass and how it looks in school?  Also, I don’t think Steve was properly involved in Roger’s plot as he didn’t even say goodbye to the one guy of whom he probably does more plots with than anybody. Weird…and oh yea one more thing. If you are going to name an episode after a pretty popular Eagles song, you better make sure its good and right with the name, and this week certainly didn’t take it to the limit for me.

thumbs down
