Review: American Dad “Hot Water”

 

In what surely will be the highlight of his career, Cee-lo Green guest stars as a singing bath tub…yep and Stan buys it.

SPOILERS AHEAD!

After having to deal with the stresses of life, Stan buys a hot tub from the ’70s that “sings” to him. After a stupid music montage of Stan getting in the tub brought to you by Cee-lo, a newly re-invigorated Stan swallows Francine’s foot whole complete with Cee-lo’s onscreen play-by-play (seriously they should’ve given him a telestrator). More singing and an acid-inspired montage followed by Stan forgetting his family duties and spending all his time in the tub.  Francine unplugs the tub so Stan has to soak in secret, which leads us into another 2-part musical number which now has Stan and Francine autotuned every few minutes.   More music numbers by Steve/Roger and then one with the Hot Tub sales guy then a few more Cee-lo members end a piece of shit premiere.

I really root for American Dad, but when something stinks, it stinks. Cee-lo cements himself as having no talent however the only thing keeping this from being a double-thumbs down is the duet by Steve and Roger (Scott Grimes has a great voice).
