Report: The X-Files Albuquerque Not Moving Forward At FOX

FOX Entertainment has no real interest in splitting profits with numerous production companies. Even with the expansive deal in place that the media conglomerate has with both Hulu and 20th Television Animation for the latter’s The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, and The Great North series, one has to surmise that the latter deal probably isn’t the future for THIS network.

Alas, TVLine’s recent report that Disney franchise The X-Files will no longer have its animated comedy spin-off series entitled The X-Files: Alburquerque moving forward at FOX, one would think a network like FXX or Hulu, the latter of which has rebooted one-time FOX animated comedies Futurama (slated for July 2023) and King of the Hill, would be the more likely destination.

The series idea comes from longtime Brickleberry/Paradise PD writers Rocky Russo and Jeremy Sosenko that’s essentially a workplace comedy featuring the back-up team to the real agents who have to handle cases that just aren’t worth the effort for Mulder and Scully.  20th Television Animation and FOX Entertainment were set to team up here, but as time has gone on, FOX has distanced itself from co-prods.
