Rapper Coolio passed away earlier this week at the age of 59, however, Futurama fans will be happy to hear that before he passed, Coolio DID record lines for the role of “Kwanzaa-bot” who is now being confirmed in the upcoming revival of Futurama slated to premiere in 2023.

For those that don’t recall, Kwansa-bot typically appears during holiday episodes with Chanukah Zombie and somehow knows Bender. We were the first to report the episode titles for the revival season of Futurama, one of which was “I Know What You Did Last Xmas” and in a new exclusive report from TMZ, show co-creator David X. Cohen had confirmed that Coolio has indeed finished recording his lines presumably for that episode.

Hulu ordered 20 new episodes of Futurama earlier this year that are currently in production. Ten are expected to drop next year, with the next crop coming at a later date. Moreover, after much hoopla surround whether or not John DiMaggio was going to return as the voice of “Bender”, eventually John did confirm his return.

Synopsis:

Accidentally frozen, pizza-deliverer Fry wakes up 1,000 years in the future. He is taken in by his sole descendant, an elderly and addled scientist who owns a small cargo delivery service. Among the other crew members are Capt. Leela, accountant Hermes, intern Amy, obnoxious robot Bender and lobsterlike moocher “Dr.” Zoidberg.
