Reddit AMA Recap: Whit, Clay, and Budd talk Stone Quackers on FXX

 

Stone Quackers has been charming the pants off of cartoon fans everywhere, and with good reason. The Ben Jones created series has a Regular Show sentiment where it lulls you in with its adorability and then smashes you over the head with twists that you certainly weren’t expecting. From ducks mutilating themselves to Officer Barry taking a chainsaw to a car, Stone Quackers has evil tendencies.

When we talked to Ben Jones about the show, he pretty much made it a point that Stone Quackers happened due to the humorous events that lead to his meeting of Whit and Clay of Power Violence fame and now we get to hear the comedy duo’s side of the story in a new Reddit AMA session which happened last week. Here are a bunch of highlights from the session:

the snake short was written by Joseph Carnegie after we told a story about a guy getting attacked by snakes after jumping off a bridge

How John C. Reilly became Officer Barry on Stone Quackers

hes a fan of Ben Jones. officer barry is based off a real cop for gulf shores alabama that used to watch out for us as kids. some of the lines from the show are real things officer barry said to us when we were kids

How Stone Quackers came about with Whit and Clay as the stars

we met ben a couple years ago after writing for a show at adhd. clay and i were fans of paper rad. i guess he watched some of our vids after we met him and took us out to dinner a few months later to tell us about an idea he had about ducks. we eventually decided to base the show off of our youth growing up on pleasure island alabama. ben rocks.

Is there more Gothfield on the way?

yes!!! gothfield and gothcliff are being shown more in upcoming eps!
