Reddit AMA Recap: Matt Damon comments on ‘Team America’ Depiction
Team America: World Police is and always will be considered maybe the funniest movie of all-time and certainly in everyone’s top-five. Produced by Matt Stone and Trey Parker and released in 2004, Team America: World Police revolved around an actor named Gary who teamed up with Team America to battle terrorists all over the world that are being controlled by Kim Jong-il. Kim uses the world’s leading actors including Alec Baldwin, Susan Sarandon, and Tim Roberts (otherwise known as the F.A.G.s) to help sway popular opinion in an effort to stop Team America from foiling Kim’s plans at world desecration.
Famously, Matt Damon, was featured in that film and came off looking like a retarded version of the Bourne actor and to this day Cybertron Messiah hasn’t retired the ‘MATT DAYYYMON’ line that the puppet spews every ten minutes despite the fact that since then Matt has gone on to appear in a number of awesome movies like Elysium, the Departed, and a whole bunch more. Recently, Matt Damon actually did a Reddit AMA promoting his latest film opening soon in theaters everywhere called Monuments Men. Surprisingly enough, when asked about the Team America depiction, Matt actually LOVED it:
I thought it was brilliant! I mean, I never understood it, and then I heard an interview with them and they said the puppet came in looking kind of mentally deficient and they didn’t have time to change it, so they just made me someone who could really only say his own name. All the comedy they’re doing is really next-level stuff. Also, I liked being included as a person who was against the Iraq war.
Actually, Matt Damon gets killed in Team America defending the numerous F.A.G.s running all over the place trying to fight America’s best chance at survival, but we can give him the pass, right? Check out the rest of the Reddit AMA right here, and instead of watching Team America at the Olympics this weekend, I’m gonna shout FUCK YEA while watching the movie. You can actually see a clip of Damon’s puppet getting his neck broke down below at about the 1:10 mark:
PS Matt Damon movies are 9 times out of 10 really good, so check out Monuments Men opening in theaters this weekend.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
