Recap: Comic-Con @ Home 2021: Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms

Producer/host of Mortal Kombat Events and Professional Tournaments since 2015, Joshua Grey hosted the panel for WB Animation’s newest bloody flick, Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms. The behind the scenes talent featured in the panel included the co-creator of the property and creative consultant on the film, Ed Boon, along with screenwriter Jeremy Adams and producer Rick Morales. It also included some of the notable talent lending their voices to the iconic video game characters such as Joel McHale, Jordan Rodrigues and Dave B. Mitchell. The at-home discussion went into a number of topics regarding the new film, some of which included how the team was able to top the original film, some of the actor’s perspective on coming back to their roles, and the crucial aspects that needed to be included.

Coming off the massive success of Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge, Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms focuses on the popular defenders of Earthrealm as they engage in combat to end all combat. When Shao Kahn proposes a final Mortal Kombat tournament to decide the fate of all realms, an epic battle begins as all sides from all realms fight for their survival. The NetherRealm Studios coordinated film is directed by Ethan Spaulding and stars Jennifer Carpenter, Joel McHale, Grey Griffin, Matthew Mercer, Robin Atkin Downes, Debra Wilson, Fred Tatascoire, Jordan Rodrigues, Emily O’ Brien, Patrick Seitz, Ike Amadi, Matthew Yang King, Bayardo De Murguia, Paul Nakauchi, Dave B. Mitchell and Artt Butler.

There was also a brand new NSFW red band trailer released that features all the bloody fatalities and broken bones that a Mortal Kombat fan could only dream of. Battle of the Realms hits summer shelves on Digital, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack on August 31, 2021.
