Nicki Minaj rips off Metalocalypse; Internet reacts; Brendon Small uses it to plug

Yesterday Nicki Minaj’s Metalocalypse-inspired a lot of uproar from the metal blogs, and all of the big names made sure to cash in. Metalsucks, Metal Injection, and even Metal Insider all had something to say about it. Me? I say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and I would think Jeff Osborne is already going to suffer as labels and publishers note that ‘this is the guy that ripped off Metalocalypse’, so what do we care?

To be perfectly honest, I thought the best part was Brendon Small shamelessly self-promoting his other non-Metalocalypse projects on Twitter like his live comedy, and the fact that his XBOX contracted the red ring of death (personal note to Brendon, your only hope with that is to just buy a new one). In any case, Brendon used his time wisely, because who wouldn’t want to take advantage of all that extra love? As a matter of fact, maybe Nicki’s audience went out and bought a shit ton of Metalocalypse episodes as a response? Not likely….but hey we tried.
