New Animated Series In Development From “Smashing Pumpkins” ; Talk’N Shop ; Adult Swim Development Meeting Alumnus

In a recent episode of Talk is Jericho, the hosts and producers of “Talk’n Shop” have noted that they are working with Toonstar on a new animated series for Instagram called The Gimmicks in what they claim will be “South Park meets wrestling” series inspired by the podcast. Some artwork has been revealed that you can see here that definitely shows the South Park look being utilized.

The Smashing Pumpkins have released a new trailer for an upcoming animated series entitled In Ashes. The Deep Sky production is being written for five episodes by band frontman Billy Corgan and are due to release on September 25th with the first two episodes on tap. Songs from the group’s upcoming double-LP entitled Cyr, will be featured along each episode.

Rare Bird Games has said in an interview with Syfy that he is both working on a new animated project with Adult Swim AND has renewed interest in his Adult Swim Development Meeting pitch.

The pitch centers on a kid who wins a contest to meet Rick Moranis. There’s no expiration date. He legally gets to meet the secluded Moranis in Canada, where he discovers that the actor has been operating as “the gatekeeper between our world and hell itself,” alongside such characters as his praying mantis butler, Morantis.

The idea for the winning pitch went viral on Reddit with some new accompanying artwork which has several networks now eyeing the series for some sort of renewed interest. Could it be with Adult Swim? Or is the reason Syfy covering for a TZGZ spot? When we find out we’ll let you know.
