Netflix Orders “Farzar” From The Creators Of “Brickleberry” & “Paradise PD”

While we eagerly anticipate the third season of Paradise PD which is slated to come soon, Netflix has signed on creators Waco O’Guin and Roger Black to new overall deals that will not only see the duo continue on in their duties for Paradise PD, but also produce a brand-new 10-episode series called Farzar.

According to Deadline who broke the story, Farzar is an outrageous sci-fi comedy that follows Prince Fichael and his crew as they venture out of their domed human city to fight the evil aliens that want to kill and/or eat them. As they begin their journey, Fichael quickly discovers that all is not what it seems and he may be living a lie. Bento Box Entertainment will be the producers of the animation for the new series and will continue to do so for Paradise PD.

Everything is being produced by Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment, Joel Kuwahara, Scott Greenberg, and Marc Provissiero.

Our Take

Fantastic news given how good Paradise PD has been for Netflix and how much we still miss Brickleberry. Waco and Roger would have been highly sought after had they departed Netflix, and they give a particular brand of comedy that feeds an increasingly maligned market. Fun fact, Brickleberry season four was pitched to go to space but Comedy Central turned it down because they had just finished up with Futurama and weren’t willing to dip their toes back into that setting.
