Netflix News: “Tuca & Bertie” , “Disenchantment” , “Aggretsuko”

Netflix was in a trio of headlines today for various reasons. First, for some good news, Aggretsuko has been green-lit for a third season by the streaming service. In the series, a 25-year-old red panda earned a complaint about the unreasonable behavior of his boss and his colleagues, when her irritation reaches its peak, she sings death metal with karaoke. No word yet as to when the series will air nor how many episodes, so when we hear back from Netflix we’ll update this.

The second half of Disenchantment Season One is slated to premiere on September 20th, and Netflix has announced a panel with Q&A for the adult animated series happening at PaleyFest 2019 in Beverly Hills, NJ on September 15th @ 6pm with producers and cast expected to be in attendance including Matt Groening, Josh Weinstein, Abbi Jacobson, and Nat Faxon are slated to appear.

In Disenchantment, viewers will be whisked away to the crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland, where they will follow the misadventures of hard-drinking young princess Bean, her feisty elf companion Elfo, and her personal demon Luci. Along the way, the oddball trio will encounter ogres, sprites, harpies, imps, trolls, walruses, and lots of human fools.

Last, but not least, the voice of “Tuca” from the recently canceled Tuca & Bertie thinks we may not have seen the last of the lovable series. Tiffany Haddish thinks that the show could be picked up elsewhere and that she’s been talking with show creator Lisa Hanawalt about that topic recently.

Tuca & Bertie is an animated comedy series about the friendship between two 30-year-old bird women who live in the same apartment building: Tuca (Tiffany Haddish), a cocky, care-free toucan, and Bertie (Ali Wong), an anxious, daydreaming songbird.
