Moral Orel Creator Teasing A Movie Revival

Nearly a year ago Moral Orel creator Dino Stamatopolous said had he had “moved on” and said he would only be interested in bringing back the series if he were “desperate and hungry in the future”. Welp, it sounds as if his appetite must have swung back because today he’s teasing the idea of bringing back Moral Orel, just in a slightly different way…

A few years ago Adult Swim had produced original feature-length films inspired by some of the network’s biggest franchises including Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Metalocalypse, and The Venture Bros. and now it looks like Dino wants to get in on the action by producing one of his own. Dino today just posted an image of a front page of a script and notes, “I haven’t gotten approval by the actual owners, but I got excited about an idea.”

What that idea is is anyone’s guess and I’m not sure if the script he took a picture of was a completed script or just the first page but either way the idea of a Moral Orel full-length feature-film sounds sexy af and I’m here for it. Whether or not it happens is entirely in the court of Adult Swim. With proof that the previous three feature-length adaptations of prior Adult Swim series resulted in Dethklok reforming and now touring the world as well as new episodes of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, who knows if a feature-length adaptation of Moral Orel will lead to anything additional in the future. I’d also like to put in a vote for Mary Shelley’s Frankenhole getting the film treatment as well.
