MAURICE LAMARCHE Issues Statement about Futurama cancellation

Can’t say I disagree neither…

You would think with the illustrious career of Maurice LaMarche having been a part of some of the biggest shows ever like Harvey Birdman, Animaniacs, and Pinky & The Brain that he’d be some what used to cancelled cartoons as a part of the business. That said, he recently put out a statement on his Facebook Page promoting one of the petitions put out by fans to keep Futurama alive:

Hi Gang, Maurice LaMarche here! Voice of Kif, Morbo, Calculon, etc., and, believe it or not, I love my job on Futurama! I actually am NOT happy, or cheerful, or upbeat (unlike the current ad campaign) about this being our last season. So, if you feel as I do, that there’s still a lot more Futurama to make, let’s let Comedy Central know we DON’T want this to be the end! Celebrate our Season Premier tonight by signing this petition, which already has 21,000 signatures:http://www.thepetitionsite.com/956/648/940/save-futurama-again/
It’s very interesting to hear the different sides of the story in terms of the future of Futurama. On the one hand, David X. Cohen seems to be OK with it, but both Billy West and Maurice LaMarche are really hoping for the return of the legendary and hugely popular animated series. These are guys that get tons of work elsewhere, but no matter what some how Futurama holds a special place in their hearts which is a rare thing in Hollywood for people to take their work that seriously.
In any case, Futurama has an all new episode next Wednesday Night on Comedy Central @ 10pm EST, check your local listings!
