Machinima announces a bunch of new and returning series for 2015

Machinima to bring 'Justice'!
Machinima to bring ‘Justice’!

Machinima did its Upfronts yesterday and the online Youtube network made a number of announcements. Not only is  “Battlefield Friends” and “Sanity Not Included” getting new seasons coming soon, but Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles has already been picked up for a second season MONTHS before it debuts its first season. Moreover, the network announced a brand-new animated series and gave us a bit more about the synopsis of the upcoming Justice League series :

  • “Happy Wheels”: All-new original animated series based on Jim Bonacci’s online game, produced by BMP Digital, the digital division of Bunim/Murray Prods. (“The Real World,” “Keeping Up with The Kardashians”). The 10-episode short form series will feature fan favorites such as “Wheelchair Guy,” “Irresponsible Dad” and “Lawnmower Man,” expanding on the game that has more than 8 million players per month.
  • Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles”: From producer and animator Bruce Timm (“Batman: The Animated Series,” “Superman: The Animated Series”), series turns the DC Comics universe upside-down: Superman is not the son of Jor-El but is the the son of General Zod; Wonder Woman is not from peaceful Themyscira, but is from the warring nation of Ares; and Batman is more of a vampire-bat than human.

Machinima detailed a whole lot more of which you can read about here on Variety as it features a disaster of a RoboCop show. That said, Machinima is one of the few Youtube channels still alive that has cartoons on it. Shut Up Cartoons is all but dead, and even the network’s sister channel Happy Hour has been rather quiet. Here’s hoping that all changes this summer.
