Machinima gets acquired by Warner Bros.
The first of many such transactions?
Warner Bros. has officially agreed to purchase the entirety of Machinima (Transformers: Combiner Wars/Happy Wheels). For a while, WB has had a minority stake in the gaming-influenced network, but over the years Machinima has turned from a Youtube channel to that of a production network with deals in place with go90, Playstation, and more.
What this means in terms of future content is anyone’s guess, but already it sounds like Machinima’s producers are excited at the possibility of leveraging some WB intellectual properties like DC Comics and whatnot. More as it develops…

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
