Kevin Smith Gives Insight On Second Of Six Aired Episodes Of Clerks: The Animated Series
It’s amazing that an animated series that had five disparate episodes 20 years ago before an expected cancellation and it STILL gets regular press. I am talking about Clerks: The Animated Series, Kevin Smith’s first foray into getting canceled by Disney (but not the most recent). An animated adaptation of the industry-disrupting Clerks feature film that was ordered to series and one of the few examples of adult animated series produced by Disney Television Studios. Like most series of this variety on ABC, the network tried to get cute with the episodes airing out of order and, in most cases, not airing at all until the show moved to Comedy Central.
Kevin was recently asked about one of those ABC-aired episodes, “The Clip show Wherein Dante and Randal are Locked in the Freezer and Remember Some of the Great Moments in Their Lives”, written by the legendary Paul Dini along with David Mandel and Kevin Smith. The episode would be the ABC finale and revolved around a clip show for a bunch of flashbacks that didn’t actually happen. Smith was recently asked about the history of that episode and here’s what he had to say:
The great @Paul_Dini gave us the clip show idea in which Dante/Randal flashback to scenes we never saw before since it was only our second episode, but @VeepHBO guru @DavidHMandel came up with the “Bear is driving” line while ad-libbing the animator’s voiceover in our Lawsuit ep. https://t.co/dNQcicTGQD

Kevin keeps teasing a revival of Clerks: The Animated Series, but is currently producing the revival for Masters of the Universe for Netflix. Recently, Kevin’s Howard the Duck animated series for Hulu was canceled.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
