It’s WEBS DAY!!! With @collegehumor, @joecartoon and @watchwellcast!!!
Batman has faced some terrible people in his day. The Joker. Solomon Grundy. Penguin. But what happens when he faces off against one of humanities worst social outcasts? The Cat Lady! CollegeHumor presented us with the opportunity this week to see just how that would go down and it is incredibly funny! The animation is in classic CH style, which is good, but not fantastic. But like everything else CH, its really all about the funny. The jokes come right thru your speakers with the ferocity and precision of an Ed Norton curb stomp (If you don’t know, look it up!). Batman’s also got a bit of a softer side in this show. Going out and buying cat food and heart meds for a villain’s pets isn’t usually his MO, but it helps move this quick story right along. I also like how they paid homage to the old Batman shows of the 70s with the little added twist of updating the logo. Impressive work CollegeHumor! THUMBS UP!!

Before I get into this gem by Joe Cartoon, I just want to say that Joe Cartoon helped shape my life. It was one of the first things I watched when I got my own computer and everything the guy does leaves me in stitches. The songs he puts out are somehow meaningful, insightful, and helpful. He’s like the Ben Folds for rednecks who like animation (which is pretty much just me). Thanks Joe, you’ve always been there when i needed a laugh….
That said, lets get into the review for the song “Dancing monkey don’t never get to be Kong.” Cussin’ Joe Twoshacks lays down one hell of an empowering and hilarious track for what could be one of the best Joe Cartoon animations to date. Joe’s art has never been super clean or earth shattering, but its still pretty damn impressive. One thing I really enjoy is the subtlety of some of the humor in this video. The small dancing Kong in the beginning and the wolves picking up the backing vocals during the harmonica solo (a solo I hope Dave Matthews hears, realizes he’s no longer needed on this Earth and plummets head first off a cliff) is sheer genius! Please @mondomedia or @joecartoon, put out the lyrics and sheet music for this song so every musician can see what a great song looks and feels like!

Ok, admittedly this ones not really in the wheelhouse for your typical Webs Day. I get that. But it’s January and some of you might still be holding on to that glimmer of hope that you sparked with your New Years resolutions. And you’re reading an article on an animation web site, so you’re most likely in college, or commuting to a college from your mom’s basement. Either way, good ol’ ChefRich ain’t here to judge ya. Wellcast has some pretty insightful videos on their channel. And they cover a wide variety of topics. Which is all well and good. But the animation is a little more like doodles on a notebook than artwork. And the voice over actress kinda sounds like Flo from the Progressive commercials. Not really a bad thing, but with the videos coming in around 6 minutes each, the voice starts to get a bit irritating. All in all, I kinda dig the stuff Wellcast does so kudos for helping out the masses via online animation. Good work!!

If you guys and gals have any suggestions for shows/videos/shorts for me to review, questions or concerns as to why I judged something the way I did, or if you just want to call me an idiot like all the other tough guys do on the internet, shoot me the message. Chefrich@bubbleblabber.com
Until next week,
ChefRich
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
