Ho99o9 Releases Grand Theft Auto Machinima For Track “Pigs Want Me Dead”

Death rap crew Ho99o9 has released a new music video for “Pigs Want Me Dead” styled by way of a Grand Theft Auto V machinima that features a bunch of battles with the 5-0 in the middle of San Andreas. Anyone who plays the game (and I do everyday PSN:jaykilla) knows that even if you shine a flashlight on a cop, they get pissed and try to take you out almost immediately. Get yourself a five star, and you’ve got the SWAT on your ass, too but with the way everyone’s been ratcheting up their armory as of late on GTA: Online, most people can just fly off in their Deluxos or something.

The new video was produced and directed by Tyler Bradberry with lyrical themes that are timely to coincide with a #blacklivesmatter movement that seems to come about every year or so as a result of police brutality. Rap/metal music for years have been speaking about these racial injustices which have brought the likes of N.W.A., Ice Cube, and Body Count international acclaim, but little in the way of any sort of reform. Political activists are sparring over whether or not it’s wise to “Defund the Police” which would effectively take funds from local police ordinances and put them in the hands of community programs in an effort to combat crime. Some critics say doing this will increase violence and put thousands of police officers out of work, others believe the gains would be immeasurable in the areas of education, poverty, and mental health.

Which way does Ho99o9 see the debate? The video (and accompanying track) should help explain their position.
