Hey…Ben Stiller help us out with this Zoolander animated thing from Augenblick Studios?
Seriously, interviews are usually here to help answer questions, but this one Aaron Augenblick did about a potential Zoolander thing has us stumped.
Ok, recently Aaron Augenblick (founder of Augenblick Studios) was in an interview with the San Antonio Current and while it was a fabulous read, I got really stumped when he was asked about the future of the Zoolander franchise. I thought we were getting a sequel to the live-action film, and yes there was word of web shorts inspired by Zoolander a few years ago, but THIS has me confused:
When can we expect to see the “Zoolander” feature?
The “Zoolander” feature will be released in early 2014. It’s 90 minutes, and it has the original cast: Ben Stiller, Own Wilson and Jerry Stiller. In addition, we have a lot of new people. We worked with Patton Oswalt, Nick Kroll, Katy Perry, and Tim Gunn, a really great group of actors that all lent voices. The concept is Derek and Hansel are superheroes that use their good looks to fight crime and fashion-based criminal activity. They fight against characters like The Paparazzo, The Red Carpet, Botox-o and a lot of other villains. It’s really, really exciting and it’s really, really funny.
Where will we be able to see this on?
That I can’t reveal, it’s top secret.
So wait, are we getting a full length Zoolander animated film?? And is THIS the sequel?? It sounds bad-ass but is this going for theaters or are we getting the 90 minutes diced up into shorts that will appear online somewhere? This could be a major deal, we are going to do some investigating on our end.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
