Google (GOOG) Goes ‘The Awesomes’; Microsoft (MSFT) Goes ‘Axe Cop’ in new commercials
With the holiday season approaching its no surprise that some of the biggest tech companies on Earth are turning to big names to help sell their products and that’s no different with animated shows. We’ve seen in the past Google use Family Guy to help promote Chromebooks (I JUST bought by second one) and over the last two weeks Microsoft has taken on a familiar face to help promote its brand-new Xbone.
Yep, FOX ADHD’s Axe Cop has been helping push his animated face in Xbone commercials airing on FOX’s ADHD in recent weeks and it looks like it has helped because Microsoft has since shifted about 1 million Xbones since its release. I have yet to purchase an Xbone nor has Axe Cop compelled me to do so, but the commercial is still pretty awesome…watch it here.
Not to be outdone, Google has been using Hulu’s series The Awesomes in ITS recent marketing campaigns and has been far more effective in promoting its Chromecast. This thing looks AWESOME, its $35 and you can attach it to your TV’s HDMI port which allows it to pick up the stream of whatever it is you are watching on your computer, tablet, and even your mobile phone. Check out the promo below featuring The Awesomes.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
