FUSE Media Dropped By FiOS and Comcast
Uh oh.
Fuse Network, home of animated series like The Hollywood Puppet Show and the upcoming Sugar and Toys, have both been dropped by both Verizon FiOS and Xfinity Comcast cable TV lineups. This comes days after FiOS just wrapped a new carriage agreement with Disney-owned networks (which by the end of next month will include 20th Century FOX brands like FX Networks along with a slew of other channels). Other pending threats for carriage disputes include Tribune-owned WGN on Charter Spectrum, Tenga owned stations on FiOS (the latter of whom recently dropped Blaze TV), and no signs of HBO or Univision returning to Dish TV’s lineup.
Our Take
This year started with Starz coming off of the Altice lineup before fans of Power got mad and forced the TComm giant to make a deal. With increasing competition coming from a multitude of streaming services, something’s gonna have to give here. In metropolitan cities with excellent broadband internet coverage, the option to disconnect cable in favor of streaming networks is there, but for rural areas that rely on satellite or cable, those customers are gonna be the casualties.
Hi Ashley, thank you so much for reading and we love the feedback. Note that on that day we had 14th posts go up and only ten posts show on the front page, so it's possible the preview had already been archived by the time you got to it. One recommendation would be to add our RSS feed to your favorite news aggregator service like Feedly, this way you get all of the latest posts!
