FOX Animation News: Bob’s Burgers ; X-Files

In a recent interview as part of The Conspiracy Podcast, X-Files creator Chris Carter said that the animated series spin-off recently ordered by FOX “needs to be funny”. The series he is referring to known as Alberquerqueis much in the same vein as Star Trek: Lower Decks in that it’s a comedic spin-off of a sci-fi drama that focuses on a “B”-team. The animated series comes from a bunch of the producers behind such hilarious fare as Paradise PD and Brickleberry.

The project is still in early development and Chris even admits not having read a script yet, so this is all very much heresay at this juncture. We’ll keep you updated on any further developments.

In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Bob’s Burgers creator Loren Bouchard still hopes that the feature-length adaptation of the hit FOX series will still hit theaters. Furthermore, we were supposed to get some sort of short, but that didn’t happen. In the interview, Loren had this to say,

“We talked about [streaming] as it pertains to the movie and we decided we really want the movie to come out in theaters because Bob’s is already on TV,” he says. “Of course, we want everyone to be able to safely see it in movie theaters. We don’t want anyone to put themselves at risk. But assuming there’s a point at which everyone can go back to theaters safely, we’re excited about Bob’s the movie being seen in the theater, in the dark with other people, because that’s something we’ve never been able to do before. That’s the main course that we’re delivering to people, in this case.”

In recent announcements, Dr. Fauci has noted that he doesn’t expect everything to get back to normal, this in terms of the organization of group setting events, until late 2021/2022. So, it will be interesting to see if the show now owned by Disney holds true to the film coming out in April. Otherwise, it may be a Hulu exclusive before anything else.
