Continue readingBlack Dynamite starts up on Adult Swim this Sunday Night and we thought it’d be prudent to talk with the executive producer Mr. Carl Jones. Not only do we talk about Black Dynamite, but we also ask him about the future of The Boondocks and whether or not we will get another round of Freaknik! Jump….
Continue readingA couple weeks back I was lucky enough to talk with one, Cory Edwards, creator and lead voice for one of Shut Up! Cartoons real jewels in online entertainment, Krogzilla Gets a Job. I actually had a chance to review the pilot of which you can read here, but since then Cory has done a really great job of churning out consistent material. After the jump, see how the green sea monster came to life!
Continue readingRecently, I had the opportunity to chat with Dave Willis(Creator of Squidbillies, Co-creator of Aqua Teen, and Barry Dylan on Archer) and he really is one of the nicest dudes out there. Reason being is because I talked to the poor buy for almost an hour and there’s no one that should have to talk with me for that long. I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy! Alas, after the jump and check out part 1 of our interview where the focus is Aqua Teen and what its like to work on Archer.
Continue readingThe Aqua Teen brand has been around for about a decade on Adult Swim and right from the beginning co-creator Matt Maiellaro
Continue readingI always hated the mainstream popular shit. I grew up 45 min from NYC and I would say a majority of my friends were fans of Saturday Night Live. Other than the Will Ferrell years, I really thought that show was so overrated as they often guest starred celebrities I didn’t care for and had musical guests that always sucked ass. Enter 1995, I am introduced to a program that became the spritual successor to In Living Color but for some reason I loved it 100 times more. It had violence, flirted with sex, and instead of guest starring celebrities, noone had done a better job of shitting on them than MadTV. I was hooked from the premier all the way to the sendoff. Not a lot of people from Mad TV do you really hear about anymore with notable exceptions like Alex Borstein, Will Sasso, and Artie Lange. Phil LaMarr certainly is someone who has had great success in his career following MadTV after he had left in 2000, having been a premier player in the voice business for decades. No show exhibits Phil LaMarr’s talents more than in his role as the lovable Planet Express accountant Hermes Conrad who can be seen in brand new episodes of Futurama starting this Wednesday night on Comedy Central. Recently, we had a chance to talk with Phil about voicing Hermes and what he thinks makes the show so addicting after all these years.
Continue readingA couple weeks ago we got a chance to review a brand new independent web series called “New Eden”. According to the website, New Eden is a pilot for an animated sci-fi web comedy following the adventures of Murray and Hamilton, two starship crewmen marooned and fighting for their lives on a primordial world after their starship crash lands on the wrong planet!” Recently, we had a chance to talk to the creators of New Eden about their new endeavor and what we can expect in the future.
Continue readingIt happens all the time in this industry. People work with popular animated series like The Simpsons or Family Guy for a while then they want to go off and do their own thing BUT maybe they are inspired their predecessors. It’s only natural, right? Daria was totally inspired by Beavis and Butthead, Futurama totally has strokes of The Simpsons, and with the relatively new Shut Up Cartoons topping the charts, it’s no secret that people who love Robot Chicken noticed the obvious DNA strands in Zombies vs Ninjas. After the jump we talk to Michael Granberry someone who very well could be the NEXT mad scientist in stop-mo.
Continue readingRecently, I had the chance to do a phone interview with a very talented up and coming animator who hasn’t even graduated from college yet! His name is Daran Carlin-Weber and currently he serves as the brains behind an upcoming animated pilot entitled “Summer Rec”. After the jump we talk with Daran and how he put together the pilot and his aspirations for the future.
Continue reading“Pubertina” is a smash hit animated web series on Shut Up! Cartoons getting several hundred thousand hits per video! What makes this popular web series tick? Welp, now you can find out because after the jump you can check out an interview we did with series creator(and recent college graduate) Emily Brundige as she talks about her influences, when she got her period, and of course “nubbies”. Check it!
