Our Take:

I feel like the main purpose of a review is to decide whether you should watch something or not. You look to someone else to see if it’s worth the watch. If that is all you’re coming to this review for then let me make it simple for you. You NEED to watch this, if you are an anime fan at all Attack on Titan has become required viewing in my opinion. To be fair if you watched the previous seasons then you are probably going to be watching this one. I truly feel this show is an anime classic and I am glad I get to watch it as it comes out. The only negative I have to say is that it stopped. Well… and it is a little bit frustrating that the final season is going to ultimately have three parts when all is said and done. Who knows they might extend it further?

This final season really made me a believer in Bryce Papenbrook. We know the guy can scream and that seems to be the type of character he always gets cast as but in the final season that isn’t the type of Eren we get. We get an Eren who is cold and ruthless, he is done with the world and he will take on a mountain of sin to protect those he cares about. You can hear that whenever Bryce is voicing Eren and I hope he gets more credit for this role. I believe this will be the role he is best known for.

I admit that the animation (especially for the Titans) fell off a tiny bit when Mappa took over but ultimately this show looks great. They put a lot of time, effort, and love into this and it shows. Wit wasn’t always perfect either, they had some bad episodes here and there.

Attack on Titan: The Final Season does not let up for a single second. Even episodes that are on the “quiet” side are full of tense moments and you never feel calm. For us dub watchers we will still get a little bit of Attack on Titan for a while as they are dubbing the OAD’s that came out in the past. So look forward to seeing our reviews of those. As for the final season just do yourself a favor and watch this masterpiece in the making.
