English Dub Review: Tonikawa Over The Moon For You “News”
Overview
Nasa comes to the shocking realization that he’s been so enthralled with newlywed life that he forgot to tell his parents about Tsukasa. As he tries to wrap it up with a simple phone call, but Tsukasa decides she wants to meet his parents. Understandably Nasa remains apprehensive and anxious about a potentially embarrassing meeting, but given the current situation, it’s motivation enough for two to visit Nasa’s parents in Nara Japan…
Our Take
While Tsukasa as a character still remains a mystery to Nasa and by extension the audience, it hadn’t even crossed my mind that Nasa never informed his parents about the marriage which you’d think would be a priority for anyone who still has living family members. But now with them needing someone to sign on for their bigger apartment it’s all coming to light. Luckily, the two leads are so damn likable together enough to keep things compelling.
While most couples have larger ambitions or materialistic desires to improve something) I do love how Tsukasa has little standards regarding her husband, while her sister Kaname comes across as the opposite of that. And while most comedians often make jokes about men being incapable of winning in an argument when it comes to relationships, Nasa has one of the best traits as the main character, as he actually tries to be reasonable and rational. While Tsukasa has this calm behavior but at the same time can appear loving, caring, and understanding without overdoing it.
Overall, the ending itself was very heartfelt and straight-to-the-point. Really rare to see that kind of behavior in anime but it’s a very welcome change. The Seven Arcs animation studio somehow keeps going the extra mile in properly adapting and replicating the manga’s art-style and every little manga panel, and it’s a testament given their track record of other past works (Dog Days, Inukami, Basilisk, Etc). But I did love the small anime references it made to Attack on Titan and One Piece which I thought was a nice touch. I look forward to how Nasa’s parents are going to react to their new daughter in law.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
