English Dub Review: The Day I Became a God “The Day the Angel Falls”

Overview (Spoilers Below)

A local ramen shop, known as Ramen Heavenward, is in trouble. It’s drawing in no customers, and the owner is getting in deep with shady lenders which lead to last episode’s cliffhanger. Only the mighty “Odin/Hina” can help, and Youta is ready to roll up his sleeves and turn this ramen shop around. At the same time this is going on, a mysterious dude with glowing blue raver clothes appears named Suzuki Hiroto who sent to investigate a missing professor…

Our Take

As far as the plot goes, I still have no idea what to expect at this point. The hints we have so far though is that Hina/Odin actually does seem to be omniscient. Foreigner/elite hacker guy named Suzuki enters the fray and seems to be looking for a certain something that physicist, Shuichiro Korogi is hiding this all seems totally unrelated, but I’m interested in seeing how it’ll all tie in together in future episodes.

In all seriousness, what’s intrigued me the most is how they were able to spend a complete week into revamping this Ramen shop of Sora’s boss Hikari. While the world is suppose to end or something. 17 days left and honestly, it feels like this whole world is ending is more a joke at this point, but it remains to be seen if anything Hina says is 100% real at this point…

Overall, a passable but fun episode even if Youta’s crush Izanami didn’t appear this time around, It still had some wacky entertainment value.
