English Dub Review: SSSS. Dynazenon “What Wish Can’t Come True?”

Overview:

No more kaiju will be born. So no more need for Dynazenon. Koyomi starts making a resume and Chise attempts to go to school. Gauma is looking sick and might be a mummy of sorts. He is over 5,000 years old after all. Yume invites Yomogi to go with her to Kano’s grave. Afterward, Yomogi confesses to Yume and the absolute worst interruption happens. Sizumu has a kaiju inside him and it’s a big one!

Our Take:

Note to self if I am planning on telling a girl how I feel make sure there isn’t anyone nearby. Also, double make sure that they can’t turn into a giant monster. It tends to be a rather large mood killer not that I know from experience or anything. I was glad the confession happened but as anime tends to do they interrupt it… lame.

It was feeling like most everything was wrapped up with a pretty bow but there is one episode left so something had to happen. Figures that Sizumu would be the one Kaiju Eugenicist to be hiding something. He was going to school with Yume and Yomogi and for some reason, it’s always the ones that seem nice that are hiding things.

Speaking of the Eugenicists, I was hoping for a Koyomi and Mujima moment when she visited him. I guess episode twelve could surprise me but when someone says they hate you I think that shuts the doors. Again, not like I know from experience or anything.

There’s still an episode left but Yomogi is becoming one of my favorite Dallas Reid roles. I didn’t think he could do anything but yell after hearing him as Asta all this time but he can really shine if given the opportunity. Not that Asta is bad by any means but this just shows he has more range than I gave him credit for. So far he has been my standout for the series.

There’s one episode left and I think it’s going to be a huge one. My main worry is it seems like there are a lot of things to tie up in one episode. I was kind of hoping this was a thirteen-episode series, not twelve. It’s still possible for sure and I can’t wait to see it! I hope we get that episode next week but it will probably be closer to two weeks. See you then!
