English Dub Review: Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles “Silver Bride”
Overview
Rio is shocked when he learns of Celia’s marriage of convenience to Charles Arbor. The wedding is closing in quickly. It’s to be held the next day. Rio uses Aishia’s powers to sneak into the palace guest house to reunite with Celia. The sight of Rio’s face makes Celia overflow with joy, but when she’s asked if the wedding is something she truly wants, she replies by saying it’s something she’s agreed to. From beginning to end, Celia’s smiling demeanor never falters. Rio is unable to discern her true feelings. The next day, a magnificent parade begins, heading toward the great temple where the wedding will be held….
Our Take
As Rio comes back to Bertram with Aishia, he discovers the worst possible news: Celia getting engaged to the bastard Charles for a political marriage between Celia’s and Charles’s families, which the Royal Family that criticized Rio earlier in the anime had fled the kingdom. At first, I completely forgot who what kind of person Charles was until the mini flashback caught me right back up reminding me how much of a douche-monkey he was. And what makes things worse on Celia’s end is that this fucker already has six wives which really wants to drive the narrative home that he’s a despicable character.
Even worse, the royal family are now reduced to being figureheads now with the power within the country being fought over by two factions, each led by a Duke. Duke Arbor, Charle’s dad, is one of those and the Arbor family pretty much runs the country. The other faction is led by Duke Huguenot, the guy that framed Rio in episode 3 and enslaved Latifa.
Overall, it’s clear that things have changed a lot in the Kingdom, but I could care less. Everything just feels too rushed given that there’s one more episode left to end this Season and everything seems to be building up to the possibility of Haruto’s soul taking the proverbial wheel in Rio’s body and putting a stop to this forced marriage bullshit that Celia has been forcibly dragged into and will come up with a solid strategy since Aishia helped him understand exactly what is going on.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
