English Dub Review: My Hero Academia “The Ones Within Us”

Overview:

Midoriya and Shigaraki enter the world of One For All as Gigantomachia continues north and Toga makes a detour.

Our Take:

After Bakugo sacrificed himself, Deku snapped and went after Shigaraki with more anger than I’ve ever seen. I know that their relationship has been more of rivals and maybe even a bully but Bakugo is who Deku considers his best friend so his anger is more than justified. But it did leave him open to Shigaraki to attempt to steal One for All. I don’t know if spirit world meetings count but Shigaraki got to meet his grandmother inside One for All. If I was a betting man I think we can be safe that One for All will stay with Deku.

The best part of the episode had to be Uraraka’s showdown with Toga. I would say that is what really sets this series apart from other shonen titles. This isn’t just Deku’s story, it’s also many others and they all get time to shine. Uraraka and Toga have been heading toward this for some time and I can’t wait to see how it gets animated. Not as good an episode as last week but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t enjoyable.
