Faputa takes one last stand to protect her mother, but she can’t do it alone.
The village is still under attack and Faputa does what she can to fend off against the creatures. She requests help from the other villagers to do so and she’s able to fulfill her mother’s wishes.
Unfortunately, there’s a lot of death and heartbreak in this episode. I don’t give want to give away details, but one of my favorite characters meets a tragic fate here. However, that character has a touching moment with Faputa at the end of the episode that’s really beautiful.
Speaking of Faputa, we see more of her backstory. We see how she met Gabu and what she learned from him. It turns he taught her a lot of things, such as manners and how to speak.
The episode is mostly centered around Faputa, but we get some sad moments with Riko and her new friends from the village. We also see that even though Reg has forgotten a lot about Faputa, he still feels a strong connection to her.
This is a very strong finale to a great season. It’s an emotional rollercoaster, but that’s par for the course with Made in Abyss. This episode wraps up this chapter nicely and it left me wanting more.
