English Dub Review: Lycoris Recoil “Opposites Attract”

Overview

An outbreak of serial attacks against Lycoris occur. In order to stay in groups, Takina decides to stay over at Chisato’s house. But for these two, living with someone for the first time is full of unpredictable situations!? Meanwhile, Kurumi secretly searches through the information DA is holding and gets close to the surprising truths about the assaults on Lycoris…


Our Take

After various episodes introducing a green-haired domestic terrorist who’s been attacking Lycoris girls left and right, we finally get a name. and it’s Majima. During the course of the shows proceedings, Majima seems to have some connection or at least be pretty familiar with the Alan Institute’s Lycoris. We also now know Chisato’s weakness which is something quite obvious given previous episodes.

At the same time this is going on, Takima babysits Chisato in her private home due to the series of terrorist attacks that seem to target Lycoris, and a series of reveals unfold involving the Hacker named Walnut a.k.a Kurumi’s which unravels into some big twists ahead that somehow tie into the first episode…

Overall, this show continues to be a decent balance of slice of life with all of these super intense moments. And while it was great getting to see Takina and Chisato living together briefly for “security reasons” I have a feeling that things are gonna escalate from here on out with Majima now knowing about Chisato’s existence and he’ll aim to give Chisato a lot of trouble in the future.
