English Dub Review: Link Click “Trap”
Overview:
Cheng and Lu try to figure out what happened to Shanshan.
Our Take:
The cops are positive that Min Liu isn’t the killer since he’s paralyzed. Lu and Cheng don’t want to keep guessing, so they take matters into their own hands. Lu finds a picture of Shanshan from the day before. He looks into it and sees that Shanshan was attacked, and presumably killed, in her home in the middle of the night. Cheng prepares himself for the worst and dives into the photo.
He takes the role of Shanshan and goes through the previous day. This involves him arguing with himself, which is pretty entertaining to watch. Qiao also talks about Cheng, how much she admires him, and even what Lu likes about him. It’s really interesting to hear this, especially since she is unknowingly talking to Cheng himself.
When the time of the attack is upon them, Cheng asks to take the lead. He sets a trap for the murderer. He tells the murderer to follow the clue and head to a certain location. That location is the studio and Lu ends up locking the killer in the darkroom. Cheng then returns to the present and says the game is over.
This episode confuses me with the timeline stuff just like the last one did. However, the way it’s handled in this episode is pretty cool. The timing of the trap doesn’t make a lot of sense to me, but I still like the idea. Since there’s only one episode left, I imagine Cheng will figure out who the killer is. Despite the fact that Min Liu is paralyzed, it’s made apparent that he has something to do with the murders.
I also really enjoy Qiao’s interaction with Cheng as Shanshan. It’s nice to get more of an insight into their past. We get to see the beginning of Cheng’s friendship with Lu too, which is something I’ve been curious about since the first episode.
There are a few scenes involving Dong Yi too. He’s just waiting outside for Shanshan all day, which is touching. It’s nice to see how much he cares about her and given what Cheng did, I hope Dong Yi and Shanshan can have a happy ending.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
