English Dub Review: Island “The Right Way to Spin Dreams”

They are not even trying to pretend otherwise, do they?

OVERVIEW (SPOILERS BELOW)

In flash of inspiration Tsun-Loli, Shrine Loli and the MC go for a public demonstration of erotic drama close to Rinne’s bedroom in order to get her horny out of her cave to enjoy the sun, the beach and many other gifts that the summer brings. Yay, it rhythm! It seems that Rinne’s lewdness is over 9000 because after having reenacted many spicy visions of what was going on outside, she decided to see for herself…in a space suit. In a beach episode.

Yes, that just happened.

Shrine Loli and Tsun-Loli decide to have fun while Rinne is taking it easy with the MC under the shade when they found an abandoned shack. Finding it closed, they decided to tackle the door down when Rinne stopped them before they could find her secret SM toy collection having a panic attack and fainting. Later, Setsuna and she had a nice chat regarding what happened while bathing together alone, when she reveals that the shack was her meeting point with the Setsuna of her sexual delusions memories.

The episode ends with Karen having another row with her father and, as some sort of vengeance, with her alone with Setsuna. On this bed. And asking for some. We all knew that it was a matter of time.

OUR TAKE

There is not much to say about this chapter. I could be aptly defined as a fan service galore, and an average attempt, to put it kindly, to do some character and world building. We did get some hints here and there regarding the mysteries of Urashima, but it wasn’t anything major, not something that could justify a beach episode at the least.

The music score was decent, and the animation, as well as the general design, is prettier than it has any right to be. I still find the dub kind of jarring because each one of the girls sounds way older than they are supposed to be, but I guess that it is just a personal pet peeve.
