English Dub Review: Bluelock “TOP3”

Overview:

The second selection, the third stage is the Rivalry Battle, where you battle as a team of three, and a winner takes a player from the losing team. Isagi decides to take on the three best players in Bluelock.

Our Take:

What I think I have come to respect most from this show is the fact that you never know if they are going to win or not. Usually, in an anime like this, it’s a foregone conclusion that the main characters are going to win. So, there being some surprise to what is going to happen is a nice change of pace. To be honest, this series could end with Isagi getting kicked out of Bluelock and if they do it right I think it would be a satisfying ending.

Isagi has come a long way and the team of him, Nagi, and Bachira seemed unbeatable. To be honest, I think the team they faced might be the only team that could have beaten them. Nagi joining the team reminds me of when you unlock the boss character to fight with you in a video game. Sure, he’s still awesome but they made this guy seem like he was unbeatable two episodes ago and now they lose. But I think he and Nagi are going to be a fun team that I look forward to seeing more of. I think this is the start of the second cour already. I thought there would be more of a delay but we are already into it and I’m glad as this has been one of my favorite anime of the season.
