English Dub Review: Bluelock “I’m Not There”

Overview:

Isagi captures everything that’s happening in the field to see its future, and Nagi controls the space. Their combination bursts and their series of play lights up the fire in Rin. Rin’s dominating play that encompasses everything on the field, from the skills of all players, the ball, positioning, and tactics gradually corner Isagi’s team once again. As chaos and ego clash, one man is covertly sharpening his fangs to devour the game dominated by Rin.

Our Take:

One little nitpick out of the way first, I was under the impression that these games were “the first to four goals wins” but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Otherwise, I think Isagi and the team would have been a lot more upset when Rin scored that goal. Maybe the other games just ran out of time when the fourth goal was scored and they just didn’t convey that well.

What I thought was really fascinating was that Baro was who basically ruined Rin’s perfect planning. Nothing like a guy who will steal from his own teammates to put a wrench into the best-laid plans. Common sense tells me that Isagi and the guys will win but with the way Bachira is looking to evolve I’m not too sure. Unless he does something really unpredictable and awesome and just scores for Isagi’s team.
