English Dub Review: Attack on Titan “Lost Girls: Lost in the Cruel World”

Overview:

Mikasa reflects on when she was lost in a world of her own making. Inside this world, everything went her way except for the one thing she wanted to change most.

Our Take:

Mikasa has a dream of sorts that shows how different things could have been. But yet also strangely familiar, seems that Eren might always have a deadly fate. Though I will say it was interesting to see how things might have been if Mikasa’s parents hadn’t been killed. For the most part, she was just a normal girl and didn’t show any of the tendencies she had.

I always really like episodes like this. What if just a couple of things went different? How massively would that change things? In a lot of ways, it doesn’t change anything. Mikasa still ends up in Shiganshina, and Eren ends up dead. These OADs got released a while back but watching them at this stage of this series is almost kind of poignant. It really shows just how far these characters have come and see some of their other challenges along the way. As far as anime “filler” goes this is some of the best quality out there. You should definitely watch these when you get a chance.
