It seems like DC Animation has their engine going full force, because just after Batman vs. Robin came out earlier this week (our review will be out tomorrow), they released the trailer to their next animated epic, Justice League: Gods and Monsters to IGN.. In case you missed the news from last year, Justice League: Gods and Monsters also serves as the lead in to a special series from Machinima later on this year of the same name where the Justice League isn’t exactly what you’re accustomed to. The Justice League rules with fear, and they are seen as villains thanks to Lex Luthor. Superman’s dad is actually General Zod, and Wonder Woman isn’t from Themyscira, and Bruce Wayne is nowhere near this Batman.

The cast includes Dexter‘s Michael C. Hall, Despicable Me 2‘s Benjamin Bratt, and Mr. Lucius Malfoy himself Jason Issacs as Lex Luthor. The cast is impressive, and the trailer doesn’t disappoint. Read up on the synopsis, and peep the trailer below.

“Journey to a divergent reality where the Justice League protects the planet — but answers to no one but themselves. Employing methods of intimidation and fear, this Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman deal brute force in the name of justice. In this alternate universe, Superman was not raised by the Kents in Smallville, the Caped Crusader is not Bruce Wayne, and Wonder Woman is not an Amazon warrior of Themyscira. When a group of famed scientists experience untimely “accidents,” a government task force follows the trail of clues to the Justice League — but is there a more powerful player operating from the shadows? It’s a high stakes game of intrigue, mystery and action that asks the question: How do you serve justice to those above the law?”
