Ed Helms and Graham Wagner to take us to ‘Mystery Island’ via NBC?

NBC has been flirting for the better part of the last ten years in getting back into the prime-time animated game ever since Father of the Pride was cancelled, and now it looks like they are looking to the past to do just that.

According to Deadline.com, Ed Helms (The Office) and Graham Wagner (writer for The Office) are presenting a new animated series to NBC called Mystery Island. Helms is writing and voicing for the series which is set on an island where holidaymakers get marooned after their cruise ship malfunctions.

Yea, it sounds a bit like Gilligan’s Island, but I think with all of the shit that has been going on with the Carnival cruise ships in terms of the ships constantly being in the news for breaking down, the idea that one of them would cause a bunch of people to have to survive on an island in the middle of nowhere is just as relevant now as it has ever been.

In any case, I hope NBC gets its act together and starts picking some of this shit up.
