DC Entertainment Rebooting The Flintstones and other Hanna-Barbera for older audiences
I say it all the time, The Flintstones were never really a kids show when it first aired decades ago. The show premiered in prime time and sold cigarette ads all the time, how the hell is that a kids show?
Welp, DC Entertainment knows this and now the home of such legendary fare as Batman, Superman, and others is trying to reinvigorate the Hanna-Barbera properties to that of current and more adult-faring content. Already announced are Scooby Apocalypse, Future Quest, Wacky Raceland and The Flintstones and Entertainment Weekly has a first-look at all of them here.
At first I was a bit annoyed by this, but then I thought, “These could be cool animated movie ideas” and then I saw the character models for The Flintstones reboot and immediately regretted my thought process. Gone are the lovable looks Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble and in are more cave men-esque caricatures with Betty Rubble looking nothing like Rosie O’Donnell’s fat ass from The Flintstones movie. Get your first-look at all of the artwork here.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
