This month, aliens are literally knocking on the door to destroy Earth, and of course, it’s down to Rick and his new pal Drippy Boy to stop them with the use of swords, or p0lite messages of deterrence. “A VR Nice Mother’s Day” starts off as a PoV bit that changes to Beth beating the shit out of some invading intruders threatening her family.

Our Take

A pretty strong issue of Rick and Morty comics. I loved Drippy Boy, he might be one of the first “made for the comics” characters that I’d like to see show up in the TV show someday. Sad to see him go! The VR bit was a good idea that I think could’ve gone on the entire strip, a storyline told in the PoV direction is something we haven’t really seen before and would’ve been a great way to parlay into the Rick and Morty VR game. My gripes are minimal, the new comics issue is a good buy and you should get it.
