Comics Review: Bravest Warriors 12

So, what happens when a Battle Chess Blitz Arena pops up in the middle of the night? Jump in to find out!

Well, this looks like another one off for the month. The difference between this and the last one is night and day.

“Sleep is for the Weak”

Everyone is resting in their bed, getting ready for sleep. Chris can finally look up in the sky, just in time to see a tower of some sort crash near the house. Turns out, it’s a Battle Chest Blitz arena, and they landed just to have The Bravest Warriors fight! Everyone is excited, except  for Chris. Unfortunately, he is chosen with Beth to take part. Even more unfortunately, they both end up with their arms broken, beaten unmercifully.

“Warped Zone Out”

And yet, another awesome short that hits home. Danny is playing a game, and Beth is saying things, because he’s intensely focusing on the game. Soon, the entire gang is getting involved. All is well, until a squid monster attacks, and squishes the table and the game console. This forces Danny into defeating the monster.

Overall, this issue was more enjoyable than issue 12, with 2 very funny stories. I still don’t dig the self contained story, but for what I got, it was very good. the jokes were great, especially both Chris and Beth getting matching broken arms. That had me guessing Beth was going to own face in that tournament. Also, the stories kept me wanting some more! They need to revisit Battle Chess Blitz, for sure!
